A local twist on a viral comedy, brought to life with collaborative direction.

Cuchumbo is a short film inspired by Mi Amigo Secreto, originally produced by Backdoor. As co-director, I was involved in every stage of the creative process—from adapting the script to a culturally relevant context, to casting, visual planning, and on-set production management.

 

I worked closely with the team to shape the comedic tone, storyboard scenes, and guide the cinematography to match the energy and pacing of the original while giving it a distinct local identity. The result is a playful and familiar story reimagined with fresh visuals, Honduran references, and collaborative creativity.
